One in four older adults falls each year. We help address the leading causes of preventable injury and chronic illness among Americans aged 65 and older. We do not diagnose medical conditions, prescribe remediation, or perform environmental testing that requires a professional license (e.g., asbestos abatement, structural engineering).

Conventional home safety assessments
Focus on fall prevention through grab bars, lighting, and clutter removal, rarely addressing the chemical and biological toxin load that may be accelerating cognitive decline, muscle weakness, and balance impairment.
Environmental health specialists
May test for mold or lead but lack training in fall risk assessment.

The approach is integrated, home-based, and deeply individualized. It draws on gerontology, environmental health, toxicology, biomechanics, and behavioral science — not as separate silos, but as an integrated web of factors that must be understood relationally.
Geriatric Environmental Fall and Toxin Auditing
We use the C.E.N.T.E.R. Framework to inform clients about environmental fall and toxin risks, educate our clients on risk factors, and support behavior change. We refer any clinical concerns to licensed practitioners. Geriatric Environmental Fall and Toxin Auditors are practitioners trained to conduct comprehensive, in-home assessments of environmental hazards that contribute to fall risk and toxic exposure in adults aged 65 and older. The auditor evaluates physical hazards (e.g., trip risks, lighting, bathroom safety, stairways, flooring transitions) alongside chemical and biological hazards (e.g., mold, lead, VOCs, pesticide residues, carbon monoxide, radon) and provides a prioritized remediation plan tailored to the client’s functional status, cognitive capacity, and financial resources. Even prescribed medications or existing conditions can pose risks that require remediation and communication within the care team to neutralize the identified risks through prioritized action.





Supporting Independence
The overlap between fall risk and toxin risk is especially pronounced in older adults because age-related physiological changes — reduced liver and kidney function, decreased muscle mass, slower cognitive processing — make them more vulnerable to both the effects of toxins and the consequences of falls.
